PRESEVING THE SUNSEEKER LEGACY
In our unwavering commitment to environmental management, we have proudly held certification to the ISO 14001 management system for over 10 years. This certification reflects our adherence to international standards, providing assurance that our operations are conducted with the utmost consideration for ecological preservation. Within our production processes, we strive for energy efficiency through various measures, such as adopting LED lighting, variable speed air compressors, and energy-efficient extraction systems. These upgrades not only reduce our energy consumption but also set a benchmark for sustainable manufacturing practices in the marine industry.
INNOVATION IN THE WAKE OF TRADITION
We believe that luxury and responsibility can coexist harmoniously. Through unwavering commitment, innovation, and collaboration, we are charting a course towards a sustainable future. This includes, but is not limited to, sourcing ecofriendly materials, optimising energy consumption, and adopting circular economy principles to ensure the responsible use and disposal of resources. In line with this commitment and recognising the importance of a dedicated focus on environmental responsibility, we have appointed a seasoned Environmental and Sustainability Manager and established the Sustainable Business Committee made up of decision makers from every department. This team is pivotal in driving our initiatives towards a more sustainable future.
PLANS INTO ACTIONS
Over the course of a decade, we have implemented a number of value-driven environmental initiatives, including the implementation of biomass boilers for renewable heat generation in our manufacturing processes at two of our production sites in Poole and Portland. The biomass boilers utilise wood offcuts from our manufacturing processes to provide a source of renewable heat, resulting in potential savings of 1,200 tonnes of carbon each year, thereby minimising the environmental impacts of our yacht production. We continue to invest in research to further value-driven manufacturing in the marine industry. Through academic and industrial collaboration, we can further our goals of reducing material waste and improving efficiencies. Our in-house design department recently introduced Virtual Reality which has reduced the need to produce timber mock-ups during the initial concept design phase.
A COLLECTIVE SUCCESS
In addition to our design and manufacturing efforts, we encourage our clientele to embrace sustainable practices during the ownership and operation of our yachts. We provide resources and guidance to help yacht owners adopt eco-friendly habits, such as utilising clean energy sources, HVO fuels and participating in carbon offset programs. Our journey towards sustainability is a collective endeavour that involves our employees, suppliers, clients, and the wider community. We are dedicated to fostering transparency and open communication as we continuously evolve our practices to contribute positively to the preservation of our planet's oceans and ecosystems.
