Celebrating a legacy of speed, sophistication and technical excellence
The principles behind the success of Sunseeker have remained constant – a passionate desire for exceptional, race-bred performance, coupled with meticulous attention to detail. In honour of the Historic Monaco Grand Prix this weekend, Sunseeker digs into the archives recounting a legacy of performance yachts from the 1970s and 1980s.
Sports 23
A trend-setter first seen in 1976 with a planing speed of 36 knots. The first performance boat to carry the Sunseeker name.
Offshore 28
Gracing waters since 1979, the Offshore 28 sported the hull-lines of an offshore racing boat and was capable of 40 knots.
XPS 34
Developed in the 1980s, the XPS 34 was the first ‘High Performance’ model, which was developed on the same lines as the world’s most successful racing boat of the time.
Cobra 39
Capable of 50 knots and clearly aimed at the performance market in 1985. This significant yacht in Sunseeker’s history continued a chain of innovations.
Celebrating the legacy of speed, sophistication and technical excellence found in High Performance design whether on land or at sea, the pursuit of speed, luxury, and adventure knows no bounds.
The evolution of hull and thrust design, together with innovations in propulsion and drive systems, enhances performance and efficiency at every level. The Sunseeker yachts of today are imbued with over 50 years of cutting-edge technology, inspired by Formula One racing.
