18 YEARS OF SUNSEEKER SUPPORT FOR THE MACMILLAN DORSET BIKE RIDE
Cyclists are being sought for the annual Macmillan Dorset Bike Ride, which will take place on Sunday 2nd July 2023. The circular route will start in Corfe Mullen, and cyclists can opt for 38, 48, 63 or 100 miles.
Andrea Frabetti, Chief Executive Officer at Sunseeker International, commented:
“The Macmillan Dorset Bike Ride is a well-established fundraising event supporting a worthy cause local to our shipyards. We continue to support the fantastic efforts of the event organisers, our employees who participate and of course Macmillan Cancer Support.”
Peter Smith-Nicholls, Ride Organiser, added:
“We are pleased to announce we will again be able to offer a choice of four distances of 38, 48, 63 and 100 miles in this significant year for us. Keeping the event going for so long can have its challenges, but it is thanks to the cyclists, our volunteers, sponsors and supporters that we can continue to support people living with cancer.”
Beth Bartlam, Macmillan Relationship Fundraising Lead, said:
“We are thrilled that Sunseeker is sponsoring the Macmillan Dorset Bike Ride for the 18th year running. As our biggest fundraising event in Dorset annually it raises vital funds to support people affected by cancer and it is supported so well by the local community as well as cycling enthusiasts from around the UK.
Beth continued: “Sadly, the number of people being diagnosed with cancer is increasing every year and that means Macmillan’s support for people living with cancer is in more demand than ever. At Macmillan, we know how cancer can affect everything. We’re here to help everyone with cancer live life as fully as they can, but we can't do it without the amazing people and organisations who fundraise for us.”
Last year, the Macmillan Dorset Bike Ride raised just under £36,000. As a main sponsor of the event, Sunseeker covered all running costs, allowing 100 per cent of the money raised to go directly to Macmillan Cancer Support.
The online entry is now fully open. More details can be found at: www.macmillanbikeride.co.uk.
