SUNSEEKER HOSTS LOCAL SCHOOLS IN SUPPORT OF COUNCIL MANUFACTURING EXPERIENCE
Sunseeker was invited to showcase its industry-leading production capabilities and traditional yacht building methods as part of a local programme in the Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch area to inspire career pathways in the marine manufacturing industry.
Andrea Frabetti, Chief Executive Officer, comments:
“Sunseeker is committed to enriching the learning experience of children who may one day consider a career in marine manufacturing. We endeavour to share our knowledge, passion and production capabilities with engineers, designers and yacht builders of the future. Events such as these offer a fantastic opportunity to develop long-standing partnerships with schools in the local area.”
Adrian Trevett, Chair of Dorset Engineering and Manufacturing Cluster at BCP Council, added:
"BCP Manufacturing Experience created opportunities for students to see the diversity of jobs and careers on offer. We know that local engineering and manufacturing businesses are facing skills shortages and opening the eyes of our young people to the possibilities of working for them will go some way to addressing their future talent pipeline.”
In addition to local school visits, Sunseeker also opens its doors to university students pursuing a career in Product Design. Shipyard tours were recently conducted for second-year Brunel University students who will be embarking on a collaborative design project with the British shipyard.
