SUNSEEKER SUPPLIER AWARD WINNERS REVEALED
Sunseeker held its annual Supplier Awards at the Southampton International Boat Show 2022, recognising the outstanding contributions of its supply chain partners.
Sunseeker strives for a streamlined procurement process, ensuring materials and parts are delivered to the assembly line at the right time. Sunseeker has over 800 active suppliers in its purchasing system, with over 100 Tier One suppliers.
Matthew Francis, Supply Chain Director at Sunseeker International, commented: “We are thrilled to once again host the Sunseeker Supplier Awards. While we continue to nurture the valuable relationships we hold with our suppliers on a daily basis, the awards are a fantastic opportunity to show our gratitude and share in a special celebration, highlighting the tireless efforts made by our teams and the partners we work with.”
The award categories and winners were:
Technical Support – Hexcel
The ongoing technical support from Hexcel staff, both on Sunseeker production lines and at the Technology Centre has been a critical part of the material development programme within the company.
During a challenging period of restricted supply, the Hexcel team mitigated the impact of restricted supply. During this challenging time, the Hexcel and Sunseeker relationship displayed true strength and resilience.
Business Improvement – Scott Bader
The ongoing focus on both technical and commercial innovations, led by Sean Palmer and the team at Scott Bader continue to surpass expectations. Scott Bader’s awareness of industry leading chemical trends, in addition to its in-house developments, allow Sunseeker to retain its position at the forefront of global finishes development.
Customer Service – M.S.A Manufacturing
Led from the front by Max Osmond, M.S.A Manufacturing continues to demonstrate outstanding customer support. Whilst Sunseeker operates in an environment of constant change, M.S.A Manufacturing endeavours to respond in a timely and professional manner
On Time Delivery Performance – Anixter
Since partnering with Anixter for Sunseeker’s consumable and integral lineside parts three years ago, the company has developed a strong working relationship with this supplier by rationalising parts range, delivering cost savings and, fundamentally, bringing Sunseeker an impressive and consistent on-time delivery service of over 99% for the last three years. Special commendation to Paul Boggas and his team at Anixter Poole Facility.
Outstanding Individual Service – Jason Stubington – Marine Concepts
Marine Concepts are a critical supply partner to Sunseeker. Jason Stubington in particular has stood out in his ability to understand the company’s requirements.
Jason continues to demonstrate his, and his company’s, commitment to service all aspects of Sunseeker requirements, both technically and commercially. The two companies share a joint vision for the future supplier relationship.
New Supplier – Midway Metals
The award is presented to the best new supplier in the business. From initial enquiry and quotation phase of the relationship, Midway Metals have provided prompt service, excellent feedback and demonstrated processes of the highest quality. This has been followed up by first class products from the first part received and all parts since. The attention to detail in even the smallest or simplest component is refreshing and their response to each request made is rapid and clear enabling changes and updates to be included immediately.
All members of Midway Metals team are very knowledgeable, extremely helpful and willing to go the extra mile to ensure parts delivered are correct and on time. Midway Metals are already a key supplier into Sunseeker International Ltd and this relationship can only flourish.
Outstanding Service – Sleipner
Sleipner has continued to support Sunseeker through challenging times. The ability to react to unprecedented requests has been first class. Supply has been consistent and of exceptional quality. Sleipner engineers are always at the ready and also have efficient dealers to support Sunseeker if required.
Best Internal Supplier (Production Director Nominated) Technology Centre Interiors
Technology Centre Interiors have been awarded Best Internal Supplier. In spite of ongoing global supply chain disruption and labour challenges faced over the last 12 months, On-Time and In-Full from the Interior department has consistently outperformed other commodities.
The Interior Department’s ability to react to an ever-changing supply landscape has been recognised by Business Managers and Matthew Francis. Well done to the whole team.
Indirect Supplier – Jade Aden
Jade Aden have collaborated with Sunseeker for a number of years, delivering high quality construction work. They offer unrivalled knowledge & understanding of company needs and are currently working with Sunseeker on some site strategy projects.

Supplier Agility – D A Watts
Agility is the superlative used to describe D A Watts, and in particular, Alan Watts. Sunseeker’s transition to using synthetic teak options and sustainable sourced plantation teak could not have happened without D A Watts and its steadfast approach to issues management. The response was incredibly nimble to what was a challenging supply situation.
