APPRENTICESHIPS – MARINE ENGINEERING
ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIRED
If you are applying to be an Engineer you must have:
- 5 GCSEs: A*- C to include 2 at A or B in Maths plus technology or relevant science (physics)
- A strong aptitude for science, mechanics and physics
What you will be doing at College:
- City and Guilds Level 2 & 3 in Boat Building Maintenance and Support
- NVQ Level 2 & 3 in Marine Engineering
- Key Skills such as: English, Maths, ICT and Communication
- Various Sunseeker courses such as: Personal financial management and product technical training
- Opportunities exist after completion of the four year apprenticeship to study for an HNC Level 4, and for talented individuals, options to study a Degree and Masters in Engineering (BEng, MEng) with Bournemouth University.
