Stunning Sunseeker Portofino 40 makes Italian debut at Genoa International Boat Show 2012

Sunseeker will unveil its much-talked about new Portofino 40 sports cruiser to visitors at the Genoa International Boat Show from 6th to 14th October 2012.

The latest addition to the Sunseeker range of luxury motor yachts will be joined by its larger sibling the Portofino 48, the impressive Predator 64 and Predator 53, and the imposing Manhattan 63.

The all new Portofino 40 was launched in Cannes in September this year to critical acclaim following an intensive study of this highly competitive sector culminating in the creation of a truly class-leading all rounder.  The spacious four+one berth layout boasts two exquisitely designed cabins, a luxurious central saloon, galley and twin access head and shower room.

This all new class-leading sports cruiser boasts a refreshingly spacious feeling throughout from the exquisite owner's stateroom right through to the galley.  The surprising headroom and impressive panoramic hull-side windows create a real 'wow factor' giving an impression of space not found in any of its competitors in the same class.

While the Portofino 40 boasts truly exceptional design and luxury, performance is still at the heart of this true sports cruiser.  The standard Volvo D6 330 stern drive's will propel the Portofino 40 to impressive speeds of up to 35 knots, and with the engine upgrade option to D6 400s it is anticipated to reach performance speeds of close to 40 knots.

John Braithwaite, Technical Director at Sunseeker said: "The main concept I had for the design of the new Portofino 40 was to make sure we stick to classic Sunseeker core values.  This means having plenty of pilot and co-pilot seats, a large lounging and dining area, a fully equipped wet bar and a large aft sunbather.  I also wanted to have an interior of the same quality and detail of the larger yachts and the space that is equal or superior to any of our competition within the size.  This has been fully achieved and packaged in one of the best looking boats on the market - a true Sunseeker."

One of the Portofino 40's biggest attractions is its stylish and spacious entertaining area which boasts a stunning aft sun pad not commonly available within the 40ft sports cruiser market.

The newly designed cockpit now features innovative convertible seating which dramatically increases forward observation, and comes with bow thruster and generator as standard.  The Portofino 40s controls make it highly maneuverable and with the option of joystick control it is ideal for the novice or experienced enthusiast.

With a new Ken Freivokh 'Signature Look' there is a choice of selected interior schemes.  There is a wide variety of colour schemes, a standard hardtop with electrically operated sliding fabric roof, the aft cabin comes standard with three berths but the third berth can be replaced with a vanity unit if required, even the saloon seating can be converted into a double berth.

In addition to the Portofino 40, Sunseeker will be showcasing the Predator 53 and 64 which boast truly ingenious design elements which make them two of the most flexible and customizable cruisers on the market.  The flexible layout of the Predators mean you can choose to entertain guests in secluded luxury or submit to high-speed exhilaration in the open air afforded by the sliding saloon roof.

Also on show at Genoa is the exquisite Manhattan 63 which exudes timeless luxury and grace, and the popular Portofino 48 which combines space and pace in an impressive package.
