Superyacht Update

Official British Launch of Sunseeker 155 Yacht

Following on from the news that Sunseeker International has received its second commission of a 155 Yacht, the team in Poole are celebrating the official British launch of the inaugural yacht.

Formula 1 star and new owner of the first ever 155 Yacht, Eddie Jordan, was joined by Sunseeker International’s Group President, Robert Braithwaite, on Monday 24th March to officially launch this magnificent superyacht, along with the help of stylish vintage swing group, Elle & the Pocket Belles. As the biggest project ever undertaken by Sunseeker, the official launch was a monumental day for all the team.

The Jordan Family Trust worked closely with the Sunseeker team throughout the design process and took full advantage of the bespoke element of the 155 Yacht. From drawing board through to the testing phase every inch of this spectacular yacht was designed and built in Poole, making the launch event all the more special.

Robert Braithwaite, Group President at Sunseeker International, commented: “We were incredibly proud to launch the 155 Yacht here in Poole with Mr Jordan. The 155 Yacht is a truly iconic British yacht. From drawing board through to testing, the yacht was designed and built in Poole, so it really is British through and through and the fact the launch took place in Poole made it all the more special.'

The event went off without a hitch and a special thanks must go to MTU, the title sponsor of the event and engine supply partner on the 155 Yacht. And big thank you to 155 Yacht project sponsors SES, Tijssen Elektro, Tides Marine, BSS, Geberit, Pipex px and DIAB.

Second Sunseeker 155 Yacht Commissioned

The Dubai Boat Show proved to be a real success for Sunseeker International with the sale of the second of our stunning 155 Yachts.

With delivery of the first 155 Yacht to Formula One mogul, Eddie Jordan, imminent the commissioning of this second yacht is testament to the incredibly high standards of design and engineering achieved in this majestic superyacht. Similar to The Jordan Trust, the new owner is keen to put their mark on the yacht and has opted for a fully bespoke design.

The personalisation of the yacht means that its design and interior finish will be dramatically different to that of the inaugural yacht. In fact, initial discussion and plans suggest that the next 155 Yacht will incorporate a six cabin arrangement featuring floor to ceiling glass in master and guest cabins, bringing the outside in.

What’s more, the new owner has chosen the largest engine options available ensuring that its impressive performance matches its stunning appearance. In fact it will be capable of achieving speeds of up to 25 knots but still with a super-efficient range at a more sedate 11-12 knot displacement mode.

The Sunseeker 40 Metre Yacht Meets London’s Tower Bridge

What happens when two British icons get together?  We get a truly spectacular sight to behold, and that was certainly the case when the Sunseeker 40 Metre Yacht took to the Thames earlier this week.

Photographed against the stunning back drop of Tower Bridge, the 40 Metre Yacht really was a breath taking sight to see.  And their iconic British nature is not the only thing that the 40 Metre Yacht and Tower Bridge have in common.  In fact they share many traits such as stunning design, intricate detail and fine engineering.

These shots were taken earlier this week by photographer Tom Benson and we think they do a fantastic job of showcasing the streamlined profile of the 40 Metre Yacht and its sharp ocean-going bow.  However, what these pictures don’t show is the yacht’s equally striking interior, which spans across three decks.
